They stood there, facing each other but they were at distance, separated by paparazzi. Him with a lady and her being with her friends.

"Mr. Mehrotra, please tell us - when are you marrying Ms. Myra?"
"Sir, what's the wedding date?"
"Are you both in love, sir?"
"Say something, please!"

The reporters kept firing questions, but she stood frozen in the crowd, watching him. His eyes were locked on hers - he wasn't hearing a word they said. And his gaze never wavered.

Her friends were talking beside her, pushing her to go to him but their voices fading into nothing. She couldn't hear them. She couldn't hear anything. All she could feel was her heart breaking.

A single tear slipped down her cheek.

He saw it. She knew he did. But he didn't move. He didn't say anything.

So she took a step back. Then another. And another. Until she disappeared from his sight, from that entire scene-because staying there hurt too much.

She knew the truth. He was married. To her. But the world didn't know that. And he... he didn't deny the rumors about Ms. Myra. He didn't accept them either. He just stood there in silence, and that silence shattered her.
